Description: This intermediate-level course provides hands-on training in diagnosing and repairing HVAC system faults using real-world scenarios. Participants will learn to identify fault codes using resistance value tables and accurately measure voltage and resistance in both indoor and outdoor units with a multimeter. The course covers troubleshooting and repair of key components, including compressors, blower motors, control boards, temperature sensors, and valve coils.
In addition, the course introduces combustion analysis fundamentals, exploring how combustion occurs, the gases produced, and acceptable performance ranges. Through guided, interactive simulations, participants will practice step-by-step procedures to diagnose and resolve issues in gas boilers and high-efficiency furnaces, strengthening their troubleshooting skills and overall system understanding.

Attendance Policy: Registrants will receive login information on Monday, June 15, 2026, and will have until Friday, June 19, 2026, to complete the class. Registrants will be required to complete 3 course to receive credit.
No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. All cancellations must be submitted via email to ceu@arpec.org.
Continuing education: Participants who attend each course in its entirety will receive a certificate and continuing education credits.

ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
