Professional Development: Conflict Management:

Description: By the end of the session participants will be able use a variety of leadership skills and specific conflict resolution strategies to gain positive results and improve relationships. Leaders will be able to strategically guide themselves and their teams through conflict situations. In addition, the group will know the benefits of shifting how they view conflict and be able to use natural conflict situations in their environment as an opportunity to build trust and better relationships with those in their sphere of influence. Attendees will practice applying strategies to a variety of real-world construction and service situations. The class will also learn how to effectively deal with difficult coworkers that are often the roadblocks to successful conflict resolution.

Objectives: Upon completion of this class, students will: 

  • Understand the importance of conflict conversations as leaders of our organizations.
  • Shift their perspective in regard to how conflict is viewed.
  • Identify the impacts of poorly managed conflict conversations.
  • Learn the role of emotional intelligence and trust in conflict.
  • Improve their ability to have conflict conversations that drive positive outcomes and improve relationships.

Related Classes: All Personal and Professional Development series classes. 

Registration closes: Wednesday, October 21, 2026, or upon reaching max class size of 15.

Attendance Policy: You are required to attend each course in its entirety. You will receive your certificate and credit upon successful completion of the course.

No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. All cancellations must be submitted via email to ceu@arpec.org. 

Continuing education: Participants who attend each course in its entirety will receive a certificate and continuing education credits.

Continuing Education Units: 4 hours

Dress code: For your own protection, participants are required to wear:

  • Closed-toe shoes: Sandals or open-toe shoes are not permitted.
  • Long pants: Shorts are not allowed.
  • Long-sleeved shirts: Short sleeved shirts are not permitted.

Failure to comply will result in being removed from class.

This is a one-day class taking place on Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Pricing

ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
