Description: This course provides essential knowledge and skills for individuals working in or around confined spaces. Participants will gain a general understanding of the hazards associated with confined spaces, including atmospheric dangers, engulfment risks, and physical hazards. This course will include considerations needed for proper entry and exit procedures, including permit-to-work systems, atmospheric testing, and ventilation. Additionally, participants will gain an understanding of what goes into rescue procedures, focusing on the use of appropriate equipment, effective communication, and the development of rescue plans.
Objectives: Upon completion of this class, students will:
- Identify the hazards associated with confined spaces.
- Apply established entry and exit procedures when working in confined spaces.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of rescue procedures.

Registration closes: Wednesday, June 18, 2025, or upon reaching max class size of 10. Attendance Policy: Registrants will receive login information on Monday, June 23, 2025, and will have until Friday, June 27, 2025, to complete the class. Registrants will be required to complete the module to receive credit. No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
