Controls Systems: Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

Description: This class provides an overview of various controls components that can be found in a control circuit. After completing this class, technicians will be able to confidently diagnose and troubleshoot related issues in the field. This training applies to both service technicians and pipefitters who work with HVACR systems that contain control circuits for operational purposes. Students will have the opportunity to practice handling a variety of troubleshooting scenarios during shop time.
Objectives: Upon completion of this class, students will:
- Be able to identify control components.
- Be able to diagnose electrical control circuits.
- Identify control circuit issues and troubleshoot.
- Be able to wire both series and parallel circuits using electrical components.
Prerequisite skills: Foundational Knowledge of electricity.

Registration closes: Wednesday, July 26, 2025, or upon reaching max class size of 10. Attendance Policy: You are required to attend each course in its entirety. You will receive your certificate and credit upon successful completion of the course. No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. Failure to comply will result in being removed from class. |
ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
