Refrigeration: Introduction to Ice Machines

Description: This class provides an introduction to ice machines, including service, diagnostics and troubleshooting. The group will review ice machine sequencing, operations, and settings. Students will have the opportunity to practice operating ice machines during shop time.
Objectives: Upon completion of this class, students will:
- Be familiar with ice machine system components.
- Be familiar with service and maintenance procedures for commonly used ice machines and service procedures.
- Confidently troubleshoot and diagnose ice machines and ice flakers.
Prerequisite skills: Foundational knowledge of refrigeration.
Prerequisite classes: Refrigeration: Introduction to Principles and Service Guidelines.
Related Classes: Refrigeration: Rack Refrigeration.
Registration closes: Friday, January 16, 2026, or upon reaching max class size of 10. Attendance Policy: You are required to attend each course in its entirety. You will receive your certificate and credit upon successful completion of the course. No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. All cancellations must be submitted via email to ceu@arpec.org. Continuing education: Participants who attend each course in its entirety will receive a certificate and continuing education credits. Failure to comply will result in being removed from class. |
ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
