Description: In this course you will learn how to handle challenging customer interactions effectively. We will discuss the reasons behind customer frustration and discover techniques for de-escalation. These techniques include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving to build positive customer relationships. These skills will enhance your customer service and help you excel in your profession.

Objectives: Upon completion of this class, students will: 

  • Understand why customers may feel frustration
  • Identify and incorporate tips to help diffuse difficult situations

Registration closes: Wednesday, July 8, 2026, or upon reaching max class size of 10.

Attendance Policy: Registrants will receive login information on Monday, July 13, 2026, and will have until Friday, July 17, 2026, to complete the class. Registrants will be required to complete the entire class to receive credit.

No-Show/Cancellations Policy: Please be aware that cancellations made less than two days before the class begins, or failure to attend, will result in a $50.00 fee. All cancellations must be submitted via email to ceu@arpec.org

Continuing education: Participants who attend each course in its entirety will receive a certificate and continuing education credits.

Pricing

ARPEC’s training, funded via the labor contract’s hourly contribution, requires no registration fee or deposit. However, if you cancel within two days before the start of the class, or do not attend the class in full, you will be charged $50.00. If that occurs, that invoice must be paid in full before you can register for future classes. As an employee benefit trust, ARPEC is legally required to be a good steward of the trust's assets.
